“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by
[the expectations of] the tribe. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.”
— Friedrich Nietzsche
In childhood, our parents, school, communities and society work to encourage support us to become ‘successful women’. But what does it mean to be successful? Thin? Married? Educated? Professional? Mother? All of these at once?
The expectation on young women to be ‘everything to everyone’ works against our ability to be true to ourselves. It denies our birthright and our responsibility to bring our unique and authentic contributions to the world - in our own way and in our own time.
Soul Sister workshops provide a safe, supportive and creative space to explore and embody the parts of ourselves that hold the energy, passion and authenticity required live an empowered and meaningful life.
Through direct learning, visualization, writing, reading, creative explorations and ‘enlightened witnessing’ of our own and other women’s stories, we begin to uncover and claim both new and familiar aspects of our deep authentic nature. We work together question and transform our limiting beliefs, roles, tasks and situations; freeing us to bring our gifts to a world that is sorely in need of our unique contributions.
